American Snowmobiler magazine review of SnowDog
“It may not be a snowmobile, but this unique tracked vehicle has its advantages”
In February 2017 American Snowmobiler magazine published a review about SnowDog. Here are some highlights:
– At the beginning of this season, we were introduced to a pretty cool product. It isn’t technically a snowmobile, although it does have a rubber track that gets you where you need to go, whether you’re traveling over snow, ice, swamp, field or forest.
You might think of the SnowDog as a lawn mower or snow blower with a track. Simplicity is its claim to fame. It consists of a frame, Briggs & Stratton engine, transmission, suspension, track, handlebar and sled. The operator stands or sits (the seat is an optional add-on) in the sled as it’s towed behind the vehicle.
… Though the SnowDog’s top speed is only 18 mph, it does have a few advantages over a snowmobile: no registration required, less fuel consumption (less than ½ gallon per hour), and about 1/3 of the cost!
