Using Snowdog for trail packing

The Pedal House in Laramie starts to use Snowdog for trail packing.

This machine is used by volunteers at Happy Jack Recreation Area.

The Snowdog machine is good in preparing trails for snowbikers, reported Laramie Boomerang.

Snowbiking is a new form of winter recreation, it appeared about 8 years ago at Happy Jack Recreation Area. And making the routes suitable for sportsmen was too much physically demanding.

This season the small army of volunteers is using the Snowdog machine to prepare 21 miles of trails. Nine Laramie residents have been trained and take on packing duties.

"The more I use it, the easier it gets but it tips over fairly easy on some sloped trails. It takes me about two to two and a half hours to pack all the trails if there aren’t any mishaps", said Dewey Gallegos, one of the nine volunteers and co-owner of the Pedal House.

So, there are yet more Snowdog fans.
